Hello Everyone! I hope that you've all had a wonderful holiday season! Mine was equally bitter and sweet this year and I spent New Years both reflecting and being thankful for all of the good memories and accomplishments of 2014 and also "wiping the dust from my feet" and saying "good riddance, 2014"! A fresh, new year always feels so lovely and possibility-ridden. I love it!
It's been a while since I posted a clothes story, so I threw together my favorite Christmas-gift-basics to share!
I'm pretty good at picking up unique, statement pieces for my wardrobe from fair trade shops and at thrift stores (Hello, crazy bright skirts and patterned button-downs!), but I'm not the greatest at accumulating basics. Andrew surprised me with some great pieces this Christmas, and they're all so fantastic+affordable that I wanted to share!
Sweatshirt: Pact Apparel ($39.00, $10 off if you sign up for their email newsletter) Pact carries a wonderful line of fair trade certified products, and these sweatshirts are included! They are soft and thick and the fabric is fleecy on the inside and smooth on the outside. The sleeves are nice and long (just a bit too long for me... but then I'm pretty short/small and sleeves are usually too long...)
Tee: Everlane ($15.00) I LOVE THIS TEE. While Everlane is not a fair trade certified company, their manufacturing processes are some of the most ethical around. They are completely transparent with factory conditions, wages, and even complete price-and-markup breakdowns.
Hat: Krochet Kids ($21.95) It's affordable at just over 20 dollars, but this isn't a cheap hat. The quality is amazing for the price- thick and soft. I probably wear this hat 50% of the time. You might have noticed that it's showing up in my instagram feed quite a bit lately. All of KK's hats and other knit accessories are artisan-made. 185 women and their families are empowered though KK! You can learn more through their #knowwhomadeit initiative.
