Product Review: Larkspur LA

Talk to anyone who's on the hunt for more ethical choices in their shopping habits and we'll probably all tell you the same thing... there are some  products that everyone needs that are difficult to find ethically made- tennis shoes, afforable denim, outerwear, underwear. When I wrote my wardrobe post back in Feburary, I wrote:

"[lingerie] is the one area that I haven't "fair traded" at all (though I do, of course, boycott Victoria's Secret and several other companies)... There just isn't much out there that I've found! I feel a twinge of guilt every time I buy a piece, as it isn't a "necessary" purchase, but I love it... So it's on my to-do list this year to do a better job researching and finding things ethically made.

Several of you gave me advice on ethical undies brands to check out via comments on Twitter and Instagram, and today marks my first foray into the territory of ethically made intimates with Larkspur LA

Larkspur LA is a Los Angeles based company offering handmade-in-the-usa lingerie made from organic cotton, repurposed, and locally sourced materials. Larkspur's products range from bras and slips to nightgowns and rompers, and feature a fanciful array of bright colors as well as understated classics in black and white.

If you're looking for underwires and structure, you're less likely to find it here- Larkspur LA's pieces are definitely of the soft and slinky variety. Larkspur's design inspiration is derived from vintage pieces and bohemian style and that is reflected in each charmingly handmade piece. I'd recommend sizing down, as some pieces seem to run a bit large, especially if you're short or petite!

Check out the Astrid Slip and Thong featured in this post, as well as some of my other favorites: the wrap romper, the marni nightgown, and the reversible cami with a sweet little lace inset.
