The star of this #clothesstories look is this gorgeous, thick scarf/shawl- the Re:Make scarf by So(u)l Collective . The weather here in Minnesota is warming up (hallelujah!) and this is the perfect transitional piece to add a bit of additional warmth to an outfit without wearing a coat- I'm so sick of coats! So(u)l Collective is a small business run by friends Alia and Christine. So(u)l products are produced by a group of 30 women in Solola, Guatamala using traditional weaving and dying techniques- you can view an in-depth look at how the scarves are made on the So(u)l Collective blog!
My favorite detail in the production of the scarves is that they are made from recycled sweaters- old sweaters are literally unravelled, dyed, and then rewoven into something new and beautiful.
